It’s 4:00 in the morning…
I get the strangest notions in my head about what would make an interesting subject at those godforsken hours.
Borealis?
Crazy cool image, but I have no idea how this effect was created. Special things happen in the wee hours of the night.
Bright Lightbulb
The lamp next to my bed is powered with Chinese electronics and a Russian lightbulb that burns long into the night, a veritable beacon of perestroika.
Taro’s Earring Display
Taro’s judgement is getting a little questionable. This is strictly swap meet material IMHO, but he’s displaying it at Bill’s. Heh.
Air Burst
“Beware of Fuel-air Explosives”, as seen on the high-output generators bought and shipped directly from the salvage company in Tora Bora, Afghanistan.
Awaji Naruto Ohashi
This is the bridge that separates my island from the mainland. It’s the longest suspension bridge in the world, nearly 4 kilometers long. It costs over 2500 yen to cross it in a “futsu-joyosha” (rougly means regular car in the sense of size, power, and purpose) one way. Yes, I pay this both ways whenever I go off the island.
Overpass on Awaji Highway
This is one of the footbridges that are built over the highway on my island. I’ve never seen anyone on them, and I think they demand closer investigation.
Desalination Towers
Actually, I have no idea what these towers are for, but they looked really neat against the sunset when I was driving home…
