It’s been so long since I’ve posted about 24 (and after seeing last season’s wussification of Jack, perhaps that’s a good thing), but I knew the silence had to be broken when Sammy sent this link: DENNIS HAYSBERT – ‘PRESIDENT’ HAYSBERT: ‘I’VE PAVED THE WAY FOR OBAMA’
“The actor thinks his role in the hit television drama gave Americans a taste of what the country might be like if a black man was in charge – and they liked what they saw.”
You know, you really can’t make stuff like this up. If Jack Bauer’s popularity actually sways the political course of our nation – I’m almost happy, by comparison, to live in the land of eternal coup.
Haysbert was beaten out by Morgan Freeman, who played the US president in the movie “Deep Impact,” if I’m not mistaken.
As for Jack’s wussification… whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis? In Season 6, Jack gets his killing spree a little after the halfway point when he massacres Fayed and all his men. I live for those sprees.

I live for those sprees, too, but there were far too few this past season, and Jack cried too many times. There was one really sweet run-kneeslide-shoot sequence that Jack pulled off, but it didn’t make up for his Steel Magnolias scenes.
Well, at least I didn’t say enough to give the last season away. Yes, it was a DUD. To top it off, the writers are on strike and Jack’s been in the pokey. Who the hell knows what’s next.
