Temple Art in Kosum

Last week, we visited a temple in the neighboring district of Kosum Phisai (which I long ago dubbed Monkeytown; see here and here).
Thai temple gable murals often depict the Buddha sitting under a Bodhi tree (ต้นโพธิ์) In this one, it shows adulterers being punished by being poked with a Trident and climbing a thorny Cotton tree (ต้นงิ้ว). Either way, the artwork is fascinating, and the message is the third precept: Abstain from sexual misconduct (กาเมสุมิจฉาจาร เวรมณี).
This preserved (with heavy varnish) tree on the temple grounds was giving mixed messages, though:
