Site Revamp 2026
Over the twenty-three I have been writing and maintaining this blog, I’ve changed changed web hosts five times (FeaturePrice, iPowerWeb, Dreamhost, JaguarPC, and my current one), experimented with several software platforms (Blogger, Movable Type, Yapeus, TypePad, Joomla, Drupal, Greymatter, Tumblr, and WordPress), and saw the birth and rise of social media, meme culture, and [insert word]maxxing, whatever the hell that means. Yes, the world has changed. Up is down and down is under-feathers.
One thing I never really resolved through all that time was the amount of cruft that built up on this site like broken links, autoloading scripts, and inconsistent formatting between blogging platforms. I did a site audit with Gemini and Claude (credit where credit is due) and spent the last month trying to fix these issues and many more. Last night, I finally got to a place where I was happy and started reindexing with Google Search Console. So I fired up Photoshop and did what I had been saving for dessert the whole time, I made a new top banner for the blog. Then I did something I had never done before and paid for a blog theme (a whole collection of them, actually). Now I’m feeling something I haven’t felt for a long time, trying out new designs and features, making widgets, trying out little tweaks here and there. It feels great!

Can you feel it?
Can you feel it?
The best is yet to come.
