About ten years ago Anime was not really mainstream, at least not to the degree that it is today. I mean, we had a bunch of good dubbed imports but American animation had nothing really to compete with Japanese Anime, in terms of excitement, raw energy, and coolness. Except for Aeon Flux, that is. Aeon Flux was kinda noir-ish, and kinda cyberpunk: a future dystopia with lots of action and a fast paced story. I remember that I had to stay up late past my bedtime to watch this series on Liquid TV, abut the consequenses of getting in trouble were well worth it. Now, it seems that the movie is finally going to happen! And its not gonna be starring Angelina Jolie, either (that would have been my prediction). If the movie successfully interprets the cartoon, then this is gonna be one badass flick.

Duh. This flick belongs to Uma and her Hattori Hanzo laser pistol.

Oh, no. The guy who wrote Wing Commander is writing this one. He is perhaps the most hated figure in all sci-fi fandom. Besides, Fluz was never about the plot. Flux is about sex and guns. Period.

You didn't read far enough:
"After being forgotten about for a while because of a bad script (perhaps the one by screenwriter Mike Finch?), MTV Productions and Paramount Pictures have jump-started development again on the Aeon Flux flick. on good authority that writers Phil Haye and Matt Manfredi have been called in to to begin working "from scratch on a new idea." We've heard of these two dudes before: they were the ones who were hired to adapt the Japanese manga comic book Parasyte into a Jim Henson Productions film."
I agree with your second statement completely, but I think that they will try and make a plot- who knows, the essence may or may not be lost in translation.

I would have to say that my best adored cartoon, 'Aeon Flux' better not be destroyed during this live action replication.
On the other hand, I am anxious to say that the producers of 'edge of effects' cinema ?BUF?; responsible for The Matrix and the Underworld; will be a part of this production as a whole. I can see the fast plot and scene transitions becoming a reality here.
I am sad to say that the movie is halted due to the injury of the signed actress, Charlize Theron. But I am hoping that we may see this feature come alive in theaters by Summer of 2006. Only a guess.
My question to all who read these postings, where in the hell can I find copies of the original cartoons? I have not seen Aeon since my teenage years, I would love to be able to see them again. I have had no luck in my search in stores or the internet! Please help if you know where I can obtain this glorious collection.

Yo, you can get a series of shorts off of Amazon through one of their associate dealers. I checked today and they had 8 left. Just do a search for "aeon flux" under DVDs
They have even more stuff on VHS, including a complete box set.
Good luck.
