Where the Wild Things Are – Trailer

Right here.
(It kept crashing for me in Firefox but worked fine in Chrome. I’m using the QuickTime Alternative plugin though, so it just might be me.)
My brother was quick to send over a copy of this book soon after Max was born since (A) it was one of our favorites when we were little, (B) because it was one of the first books featured on Reading Rainbow, and (C) the protagonist is of the story is also named Max.

Adam also sent this last year:

  1. I saw the trailer on Apple.com yesterday and was strongly reminded of H.R. Pufnstuf and his gang. Even with the CGI facial expressions, there was no getting around the people-in-large-suits feel.
None of which is to say this won’t work for kids, but as a crotchety adult, I’ve been pampered by Hollywood’s attempts to make live-action children’s films that also appeal to grownups.
    Maybe it’s just me.

  2. Do you want more favorite books for Max’s birthday? I saw a cute Elmo puppet-in-a-book for his age group where you have to sing (and work hand puppet) “if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands”, which works in Japanese, too.
    *sigh.*
Wish he were here for his very first birthday, but since he can’t, please make sure you take a nice video for us! I want to see him with his first little cake and to squash it with glee like you did!
