This one bit stuck with me, “Native americans would be more plentiful if…” I’m reading a fabulous book, “The Omnivore’s Dilemna,” and within Chapters 1 & 2, it reveals that the beginning of the end for the Native Americans lie in their revealing the secret of corn to the white man. And once the full scope of corn (as a food stuff, and PLENTIFUL OTHER USES) was known, the white man had no further use for the native american. So far it’s a fascinating read. I highly recommend it to any and all “Foodie” I know. The link to the book is on the sidepanel on my blog…
